NZ Jury Reaches Verdict In Murder Trial of Liquor Store OwnerPosted: March 4, 2010
The jury has found Anitilea Chan Kee guilty of murdering Manurewa dairy owner Navtej Singh.
Five others – Myron Felise, Tino Felise, Eti Filoa, Walter McCarthy and Jason Naseri – were found not guilty of Mr Singh’s murder or manslaughter.
Mr Singh, 30, died from a single gunshot wound to his abdomen the day after his Manurewa liquor store was robbed at gunpoint on June 7, 2008.
Tino Felise, Filoa and McCarthy were also accused of aggravated robbery.
Anitilea Chan-Kee, Myron Felise and Naseri have pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery.
A seventh man, Mefiposeta Chan-Kee, was charged with being an accessory after the killing.
The jury reached its verdicts on its fourth day of deliberations.
